HOW IT STARTED
KREEPY CLUB was first conceived by KREEPTURE and TOMORROW MAN, two best friends based in South Africa who’ve been creating art together since high school. For the past three years, they planned to meet up and work with JUNKYARD, a Los Angeles-based artist who also grew up in South Africa. With his help, they’re excited to take Kreepy Club to the next level. Their art is heavily inspired by the rubber hose cartoon era of the 1930s and classic 1990s cartoons. The mission is to expose low-brow culture and art scene to the Metaverse, using surrealistic grungy subject matter and elements of nostalgia.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
JUNKYARD’s art is the embodiment of the American dream seen from the wrong side of the tracks. Bold, gritty, and unapologetic, his work takes on iconic imagery and shows the viewer what’s hiding just beneath the surface. Born in South Africa, this prolific artist now lives in LA where he creates all of his work. Everything is created at Kreepy Club in the fashion district of downtown LA.
TOMORROW MAN is a self-taught full-time creator from Cape Town, South Africa. His style is heavily influenced by 90’s cartoons and psychedelics. TOMORROW MAN’s art can be described as a balance between surrealism and nostalgia.
KREEPTURE is a South African artist, based in Cape Town. He graduated from studying CG and Animation but is mainly a self-taught artist. His art consists of elements from 1930’s Rubber hose style cartoons with a grungy psychedelic twist.
